The Oscar-winning singer, John Legend and the American model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen has now listed their Beverly Hills mansion, featured in Architectural Digest on the market for $23.95 million which was brought originally in 2016, paying a reported $14.1 million, owned by singer Rihanna and built in the mid-1960s. The reality TV actress is pregnant with the third child, so possibly they plan to shift to the new bigger place.
The modern 8,520 square foot house features a parlor entry with 33-foot ceilings, a sculptural staircase, seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and floor to ceiling windows. Outside is the sweeping canyon views, a heated saltwater pool, and a wood-burning oven and chef’s grill. The couple did some renovations on their own after buying the house, including replacing the floors with ebonized cerused oak and adding bespoke patterned ceilings from Thailand, turning the exterior from white to gray.
The top of the upgrade was the professional-grade kitchen, which Chrissy uses for the cooking videos for her Instagram posts, as she is a celebrity chef and has her own line of culinary tools. The other major upgrades were the huge, rodeo-drive-worthy closets for both, Teigen’s call her closet the glam room. The main living area features a great piano, and on display are the John Legend “Legend’s” Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. All the seven bedrooms are featured with their own outdoor glass-edged balconies and a dramatic fireplace made from brass, concrete, and clay. The family room is next to the kitchen, which has the floor to ceiling windows and opens up to the pool and patio.
The home also includes its own gym, cozy movie theatre with popcorn machines, and candy jars stock. It is truly a spectacular property with the most exquisite and high-end finishes. With maybe an eye to the future, in April this year, they splashed another $7.7 million for the 3,500-square-foot, three-floor penthouse right next door in the same building. Expect the sound of jack hammers soon.
